About Us

Dr. Wes Violet grew up on a farm in northwestern Ohio where he owned horses and raised beef cattle. His veterinary training included an externship in Ocala, Florida, with emphasis on equine medicine and surgery. The practice served many Thoroughbred and Arabian farms in the area. After receiving a BS in Microbiology he graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. Dr Violet’s areas of interest are equine reproduction, lameness diagnosis and treatment, and equine medicine and surgery. He has extensive experience in equine pre-purchase evaluation, and has received additional training in embryo transfer, acupuncture, and dentistry. He has been a career long member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his children and their four horses.




Dr. Kris Willaman
received her DVM from the The Ohio State University in 1983 after obtaining a BS in Biology from the University of Cincinnati. As a student she was an in-house extern for the veterinary hospital. Dr Willaman practiced for 10 years in the Cottage Grove area, then took a brief sabbatical to start a family of three children. Kris has experience in large animal practice and is a member of the Small Ruminant Practitioners Association. Her interests include orthopedic surgery and small animal medicine. She recently completed training in Penn Hip certification. In her spare time Dr Willaman enjoys studying foreign language and is currently learning Japanese.

Julie Pardovich started working at the clinic in 1998. Julie is skiilled at client communications and is our PreventiCare administrator. She has been involved in animal care her entire career. She graduated from North Eugene High School then gained experience in zoos, retail, and veterinary clinics. Julie has an interesting assortment of animals including exotics, birds, reptiles, dogs, cats, and horses.

Karen Wright started in June of 1999. She earned a 2-year business degree at LCC. Karen works in the business office and helps maintain accounting and medical records. She is a cat enthuiast and is an accomplished bowler.

Marion Bayman started in 1999. Marion is very versatile assisting in the business office and reception. Marion has been involved horses throughout her life. She especially enjoys trail riding with friends at Elijah Bristow State Park.

Brittany Boettiger is our new large animal technician. Brittany is no stranger to our community having grown up in Jasper and attended Pleasant Hill High School. She has enjoyed horses her entire life and has a special interest in starting and training western pleasure and reining horses. Following high school Brittany completed her BS in Equine Science and Equine Business Management at The University of Findlay in Ohio. You will enjoy Brittany’s pleasant personality and sensitive touch in handling our patients. Brittany is glad to be back in Oregon and we are happy to have her in our practice.

Kendel Drago is our new small animal technician.  Her primary duties involve small animal medicine and surgery, but she sometimes assists in large animal.  Kendel graduated high school in California then started a long list of experiences as a veterinarian assistant.  She moved to Oregon and continued to work in animal care.  She and her husband Dean live in Creswell and have two daughters who are very active in Eugene Pony Club.  Her experience has proven to be very helpful.
