Dr. Wesley Violet

Dr. Wes Violet

Dr. Wes Violet grew up on a farm in northwestern Ohio where he owned horses and raised beef cattle. His veterinary training included an externship in Ocala, Florida, with an emphasis on equine medicine and surgery. The practice served many Thoroughbred and Arabian farms in the area. After receiving a BS in Microbiology, he graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. Dr. Violet's areas of interest are equine reproduction, lameness diagnosis and treatment, and equine medicine and surgery. He has extensive experience in equine pre-purchase evaluation and has received additional training in embryo transfer, acupuncture, and dentistry. He has been a career-long member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and their four horses

Dr. Farrahn Olson

Dr. Farrahn Olson

I’m Dr. Farrahn Olson, and I grew up outside of Spokane, WA. While I’ve always had an interest in animal care and the outdoors, I fell in love with agriculture during my undergraduate degree in Animal Science at Washington State University. After my program at WSU and a summertime career in forestry, I moved abroad to attend vet school in Scotland. I attended the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine, where I thoroughly enjoyed my large animal coursework – with lots of sheep experience! Having been recently married and graduated, I am very excited to move back to the Pacific Northwest to settle down. I found South Willamette Vet Clinic while looking for a veterinary externship during vet school and, after getting to know the clients and the team, I am very excited to join the practice as an associate veterinarian! I have already come to appreciate the farm and equine community in the Eugene area, and I’m quite happy to get to work!

Dr. Jackson Shelton

Dr. Jackson Shelton

My name is Dr. Jackson Shelton and I grew up on the Gulf Coast where I always had an interest in being a veterinarian. I received my MVB from the University College Dublin after obtaining a bachelors of science in biological science from Mississippi State University. My veterinary interests include equine dentistry, small animal surgery and anesthesia. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors and/or cooking my favorite Greek or Cajun dishes. I decided on South Willamette Veterinary Clinic because of the beautiful location, the welcoming staff, and the potential for a great mentorship from Dr. Violet and Dr. Willaman.
